Ants are a major problem in Sydney homes.

At Knightguard Pest Solutions we have developed a range of ant control solutions to destroy the nests where ants breed, new treatment methods include, gels and in some cases we use baiting methods for severe infestation.

Bees are common in gardens, especially during spring and summer.

In some cases a bee nest or swarm in your backyard can pose a real danger to you or young children.

Some people have severe allergic reactions to bee stings.

Do not attempt to remove a bee nest at any time.

Wasps are dangerous and can cause painful stings and even death.

Their stings produce histamine in humans and can cause anaphylaxis.

This can cause swelling in airways, difficulty in breathing and a drop in blood pressure.

If you notice a wasp nest or swarm in your backyard, close all doors and windows immediately, do not let young children enter the area where wasps are nesting.

Do you have cockroaches at your property that you just can't seem to get rid of?

Are you tired of trying to eliminate them from your kitchen, cupboards and outside areas? Cockroaches are disease carrying pests that pose a real health threat

to your family.

To effectively eradicate cockroaches we need to destroy their breeding areas.

We include cockroach treatment as part of our general pest treatment, so why not book a pest treatment service for spring!

Are you worried about webbing spiders around your home or scared that your children may be bitten by spiders.

Correct identification of spiders is the key to treatment.

You have total peace of mind with our spider control methods and our guarantee ensures that we will continue to return to your property until your pest problems are solved.

Rats and mice (rodents) are commonplace in Sydney and in many cases they have destructive habits which can impact on your health and home.

Rats often chew through wiring and destroy pipes in homes.

Rats can cause fires and water leaks due to the gnawing of wires and pipes, so if you do hear noises in the roof or your water consumption has increased dramatically, book a rat control service promptly.

Your home is probably your most valuable asset.

Did you know that termite damage is NOT covered by your home building and contents

CSIRO studies have shown that up to 1 in 5 homes will be infested by termites regardless of the

age or construction method.

Most people are unaware of the high rate of termite infestations in Australia.

Prevention of termites is the best solution and regular inspections by a qualified and accredited inspector is the first step in protecting your home from termites and the damage they can cause.

An annual termite inspection report will provide you with total peace of mind.

When we complete a termite inspection at your property we will provide you with a written Australian Standards Compliant Report and will detail personal recommendations for your property.

Working together, we can help you to improve the environment around your property and reduce the likelihood of termite infestation, improving your termite protection.

Knightguard Pest Solutions, carry out hundreds of termite inspections every year.

Termites are a common pest that can cause damage to your property if left untreated, they penetrate into the floor and wall supports of the home.

Knightguard Pest Solutions, provide various termite treatments to stop termite damage as well as setting up termite barriers that prevent further termite problems.

For effective termite control, thermal imaging allows us to detect and locate the termite pest problem so that we can apply the appropriate control solution.

Knightguard Pest Solutions has all the latest pest control equipment required for effective termite treatment applications.

With fully trained and experienced exterminators, Knightguard Pest Solutions can help you deploy the right termite treatment to eradicate termites from your property.

Control techniques for termites can essentially be divided into two types: Pre and Post Construction.

Pre-construction techniques usually involve preventative measures which are applied during the construction of the home or building.

These are generally a chemical or physical barrier to prevent termite entry.

Post construction techniques utilise a number of options including baiting, monitoring stations and or chemical barriers to detect or prevent termite entry into the home.

Each property is different, construction and environmental factors determine which type of treatment is most suitable and we can tailor a termite treatment program specifically for your property.

If termites have made their way into your property there are a number of treatment options which can be implemented.

Effective termite control requires an understanding of termites and their habits and a well-informed knowledge of termite treatment options, products, their application methods and the relevant Australian Standards and Industry Codes.

We have vast experience in termite treatments and the best results are achieved by close consultation with you to determine the most suitable control method.

All our treatments are completed in accordance with Australian Standards and backed by a service warranty and regular inspections.

To get the best results from your Knightguard Pest Control treatment, there are some handy hints and tips that you can implement around your home.

If you have any queries about your treatment please call us on 1300 132 775 at any time to discuss your concerns.

We suggest that you follow these guidelines to ensure that you receive the most optimal outcome for the treatment process.

In some cases we may need to return to the premises where there is a severe infestation.

  • Please advise our technician of any pets or family members who are around at the time of treatment who may have allergies - If you have any concerns please ask our staff before the treatment begins

  • Try to keep all pets and people away from treatment areas until dry

  • Please make sure your home is well ventilated after treatment

  • We recommend you cover all food items and utensils

  • If there are any persons who are sensitive or suffer from allergies, they should preferably remain off the premises for twenty four (24) hours and return after the premises has been well ventilated

You should allow 14 - 21 days for the products to take full effect

This applies especially to cockroaches and rodents.

Shortly after treatment you may continue to see pests as the treatment can flush them out from their hiding places.

If you continue to see dead pests, this is a sign that the treatment is working.

Access to areas where rodent baits have been placed must be restricted.

If you are planning to have any high pressure, carpet or specialised cleaning done, it is best to do this before treatment.

The products are designed to be safe for pets, however as a safety precaution, animals such as dogs will need to be kept somewhere safe during treatment.

We recommend that you do not have any washing on your clothes line during treatment.

You do not have to clean up after the treatment.

Do not remove webs from external surfaces for at least two weeks after treatment.

1. Make Sure Your House Is Clean and Dry

  • Many insects and rodents are attracted to food and water, so start off by making your home less enticing to pests

  • Keep bathroom and kitchen areas as dry as possible - Fix leaky taps and don't let standing water accumulate

  • Keep ripe fruit in the fridge

  • If you have a pet, comb it regularly with a flea comb and wash its bedding frequently, be sure to vacuum floors, rugs and upholstery your pet comes in contact with regularly

2. Seal Entryways and Doorways

  • Deny access to new pests by making sure potential entry points are sealed off

  • Use silicone to seal any cracks and crevices in baseboards, moldings, cupboards, pipes, ducts, sinks, toilets and electrical outlets

  • Place screens in front of heating and cooling vents, and repair holes in any existing screens, the average mouse found in homes can squeeze through a hole the size of a twenty cent coin

  • Keep vegetation and other debris away from the exterior of your house so pests can't climb up and in

3. Try Chemical-Free Strategies

Now that you're denying pests food, shelter and access, it's time to put the squeeze on any lingering intruders.

To solve your pest problems without using chemical pesticides, you can:

  • Vacuum for individual bugs or nests (bugs will usually suffocate in the bag)

  • Set traps (flytraps, jar traps, pheromone traps, light traps, etc...)

  • Use a swatter

  • Use a chemical free spray

4. Minimise Exposure Risks

When using any pesticide, be sure to limit the exposure of everyone in your household.

  • Avoid frequent, preventative applications - Never exceed the application rate indicated in the instructions

  • When applying pesticides, follow all precautions listed on the label, such as wearing gloves, masks or goggles

  • Make sure any baits, traps or pesticide residues are kept out of reach of children and pets

  • Never dump leftover pesticides in the garbage, on the lawn, or down the drain, where it could contaminate the soil or drinking water
